The relationship between playback laser power and bit error increase caused by continuous playback is considered. In the Te system write-once media, bit errors increase gradually due to the phase chage of media. Playback laser power should be designed so as media temperature is not overly increased. In TbFe system magneto-optical recording media, bit errors don't increase when playback laser power is lower than threshold recording power.

A new optical fiber cable network, Dynamic-Loop Cable Network consisting of control-nodes and loop lines, is proposed. The optimum ratio of route decentralizing and the design of cable size in this network are shown theoretically.

We propose a problem of a highly reliable subscriber transmission line network by the graph theory and solve the problem. By using the theory, we present a construction method for realizing the highly reliable network.
A bang-bang drive with a study function is proposed which minimizes control errors inherent in open loop drive. The study function optimizes the current switching point, resulting in fast and stable access. Some experimental results are described.
