In this letter, to improve the beam quality of the thin film energy transfer dye laser (thin film ETDL), DFB oscillator-amplifier system of it has been studied. This system is simply constracted on the one prism and operates as a compact solid dye laser under N2 laser pumping.

The fiber type dye laser composed by modulating a commercial grade plastic fiber has been studied. One is the active clad type and the other is the coupling waveguide type. These active fiber pumped by a pulsed N2 laser generate the intense emission of the superradiant mode with the spectrum width of 35 nm.
