Abstract: The dynamic spectral broadening factor of an InGaAsP/InP electroabsorption light modulator has been characterized from optical power spectra under large-signal sinusoidal modulation. The value decreased with increasing an operating electric field in the modulator. The estimated value for full modulation was 2.3.
