This letter describes the experimental study on the problems of gain enhancement for a radiating element between a finite ground plane and a finite dielectric plate. It is shown that, in the case of rectangular dielectric plate, this type antenna has 17 dBi antenna gain with 210% aperture efficiency if the dimensions of the rectangular parallelepiped dielectric are 1.375λ0
