Wireless sensor network (WSN) has attracted many researchers to investigate it in recent years. It can be widely used in the areas of surveillances, health care and agriculture. The location information is very important for WSN applications such as geographic routing, data fusion and tracking. So the localization technology is one of the key technologies for WSN. Since the computational complexity of the traditional source localization is high, the localization method can not be used in the sensor node. In this paper, we firstly introduce the Neyman-Pearson criterion based detection model. This model considers the effect of false alarm and missing alarm rate, so it is more realistic than the binary and probability model. An affinity propagation algorithm based localization method is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed method provides high localization accuracy.

The complicated indoor environment such as obstacles causes the non-line of sight (NLOS) environment. In this paper, we propose a voting matrix based residual weighting (VM-Rwgh) algorithm to mitigate NLOS errors in indoor localization system. The voting matrix is employed to provide initial localization results. The residual weighting is used to improve the localization accuracy. The VM-Rwgh algorithm can overcome the effects of NLOS errors, even when more than half of the measurements contain NLOS errors. Simulation results show that the VM-Rwgh algorithm provides higher location accuracy with relatively lower computational complexity in comparison with other methods.

This letter solves the energy efficiency optimization problem for the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) systems with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), multiple input single output (MISO) and power-splitting structures, where each user may have different individual quality of service (QoS) requirements about information and energy. Nonlinear energy harvesting model is used. Alternate optimization approach is adopted to find the solution, which shows a fast convergence behavior. Simulation results show the proposed scheme has higher energy efficiency than existing dual-layer iteration and throughput maximization methods.

To efficiently utilize storage resources, the in-network caching system of Information-Centric Networking has to deal with the popularity of huge content chunks which could cause large memory consumption. This paper presents a Popularity Monitoring based Gain-aware caching scheme, called PMG, which is an integrated design of cache placement and popularity monitoring. In PMG, by taking into account both the chunk popularity and the consumption saving of single cache hit, the cache placement process is transformed into a weighted popularity comparison, while the chunks with high cache gain are placed on the node closer to the content consumer. A Bloom Filter based sliding window algorithm, which is self-adaptive to the dynamic request rate, is proposed to capture the chunks with higher caching gain by Inter-Reference Gap (IRG) detection. Analysis shows that PMG can drastically reduce the memory consumption of popularity monitoring, and the simulation results confirm that our scheme can achieve popularity based cache placement and get better performance in terms of bandwidth saving and cache hit ratio when content popularity changes dynamically.

Correspondence based on regions rather than lines seems to be effective, as regions are usually fewer than other image features and provide global information such as size, color, adjacency, etc. In this paper, we present a region matching approach for solving the correspondence problem. Images are segmented into regions and are individually described by classification tables using region adjacencies. From the structural description of the two images, the region matching process based on color and structural similarity is carried out. First, a small number of significant regions are selected and matched by using color, and then they are used as handles for constraint propagation to match the remaining regions by using structures. Our technique was implemented by using an efficient selection and propagation algorithm and was tested with a variety of scenes.

The requirement for achieving the smoothness of mode transit between track seeking and track following has become a challenging issue for hard disk drive (HDD) motion control. In this paper, a random-optimization-based self-organizing neuro-fuzzy controller (RO-SNFC) for HDD servo system is presented. The proposed controller is composed of three designs. First, the concept of pseudo-errors is used to detect the potential dynamics of the unknown plant for rule extraction. Second, the propensity of the obtained pseudo-errors is specified by a cubic regression model, with which the cluster-based self-organization is implemented to generate clusters. The generated clusters are regarded as the antecedents of the T-S fuzzy "IF-THEN" rules. The initial knowledge base of the RO-SNFC is established. Third, the well-known random optimization (RO) algorithm is used to evolve the controller parameters for control efficiency and robustness. In this paper, a motion reference curve for HDD read/write head is employed. With the reference velocity curve, the RO-SNFC is used to achieve the optimal positioning control. From the illustrations, the feasibility of the proposed approach for HDD servo systems is demonstrated. Through the comparison to other approaches, the excellent performance by the proposed approach in access time and positioning smoothness is observed.

In this paper, two efficient redeployment strategies which are designed to balance the detection coverage rate and maintenance period are proposed. To develop these strategies, we first analyze the sensor detection coverage and energy consumption model. We then propose a network maintenance indicator that considers the coverage rate and residual energy in each node. We adopt the network maintenance indicator as the cost function. That is, the network maintenance is formulated as a cost optimization problem. Finally we propose COST_MAX_MIN and COST_MAX_AVG strategies to select the redeployed location of candidate nodes. Simulation results show that the COST_MAX_AVG prolong the repair period in comparison with the COST_MAX_MIN strategy.

In this paper, some properties of Boolean functions via the unitary transform and c-correlation functions are presented. Based on the unitary transform, we present two classes of secondary constructions for c-bent4 functions. Also, by using the c-correlation functions, a direct link between c-autocorrelation function and the unitary transform of Boolean functions is provided, and the relationship among c-crosscorrelation functions of arbitrary four Boolean functions can be obtained.
